2 projects shortlisted for RIBA Awards

Two projects featuring bricks supplied by European Building Materials have been shortlisted for RIBA 2018 Awards.

A new tennis pavilion in Southsea by PAD Studio provides a permanent base for a tennis club, with additional space for sports and community classes.

The pavilion has been shortlisted for a RIBA South Award and features a special silver-grey mixture of long and narrow Danish bricks by Petersen.

The handmade bricks give the building a robust base and a strong horizontal emphasis, supporting a largely glazed first floor rising to a gull wing roof.

Shortlisted for a RIBA West Midlands Award, a new development of 4 luxurious townhouses in Stratford upon Avon by Studio Spicer was inspired by classic modernism.

The new homes are clad in attractive red/brown earth tone bricks by Petersen. EBM also assisted with a lightweight solution for the lintel areas.
