Inspired by classic modernism, four new townhouses by Studio Spicer on the outskirts of Stratford Upon Avon represent a further evolution of the area’s architecture and character.
Built on the site of a demolished 1950s self-build in St Mary’s Road, the new homes were conceived as a hinge to resolve the disjunction between Arts & Crafts style properties to one side and post-war housing to the other. Simple, subtle detailing reflects the Arts & Crafts style while form and materials link to the more modern, post-war homes.
The high specification new homes are clad in attractive red/brown earth tone Petersen facing bricks supplied by European Building Materials. We also assisted with a lightweight solution for the lintels area.
