A former office building in Clerkenwell has been transformed into a mixed-use boutique development, clad with an attractive mix of red/brown and grey Petersen bricks supplied by European Building Materials.
Barbican House on Old Street has been redeveloped for residential and commercial use by MHA Associates to the designs of Marek Wojciechowski Architects. The scheme comprises commercial space on the ground and lower floor, with flats and duplex apartments above.
EBM worked closely with the architects on the initial brick selection and finalising the exact brick mix: 65% D48 red/brown; and 35% D51 grey.
The Danish bricks were cut to size offsite and supplied as lightweight prefabricated panels. We ensured the bricks were correctly premixed to realise the architect’s brickwork design.
